Deleting your account
Two ways. The first is faster and you do not need us for it.
In the app
You → Settings → Delete account. It asks once to confirm, and then it is
done — there is no waiting period and nobody reviews it.
By email, if you cannot sign in
Write to [email protected]
from the address on the account and say you want it deleted. We reply within 30 days and
usually much sooner. We will ask you to confirm from that address and nothing else — we
will never ask for your password.
What is deleted
- Your account and profile.
- Every answer you have written, and your side of the daily questions.
- Your photos, notes, mood check-ins, important dates and bucket list.
- Your private conversations with the coach.
- Your pairing with your partner.
This is one action against the database rather than a flag on a row: deleting
the account deletes the record, and everything attached to it goes with it by foreign key.
There is no archived copy to restore, so it cannot be undone.
What is not
- Your partner's own answers stay theirs. They wrote them, and deleting
your account does not delete their account. What you can no longer see is each other.
- Your subscription is separate. Apple owns the billing relationship —
cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, or on Google Play. Deleting the
account here does not cancel it and we cannot cancel it for you.
- Records we are required to keep. Purchase receipts, and anything a
law or a tax authority obliges us to retain, for as long as it obliges us.
Export first, if you want it
You → Settings → Export my data hands you everything you have written, as a
file, before you delete any of it. Worth doing: there is no way back afterwards.
